Day 3 -- Monday, 22 September 2008

Leofoo Village Theme Park is one of the most popular theme parks in Taiwan. Being theme park craze, Lynn and Vivi refused to leave this out of the itinery! And so we woke up at 8.30am and set off to Zhongxiao Dunhua station by MRT. After exiting through the station Exit 8, we board a bus with blue lettered 台聯客運 on the windscreen at the bus-stop across the road. The 1.5-hour bus ride allowed us to take a short beauty nap. The Bus journey : 松山機場-忠孝敦南-公館-秀朗國小-智光商職-景安捷運-龍潭-六福村 http://www.leofoo.com.tw/ The bus made a stop halfway through the journey at the bus ticketing counter before bringing us to Leofoo Village Theme Park.

The youth travel card came in useful again! However, this time round, our student cards got us better discount, so we used that instead. Poor Lynn forgot her student card and had to buy the slightly more expensive tickets.
Being very kind people, Vivi and me couldn’t leave Lynn ‘in lurch’. We offered to split the total cost equally among us which she gladly accepted. =p

The moment we stepped into Leofoo Village Theme Park, disappointment sank in. It is way below expectation. The park is small, the rides are kiddish, even the décor are mediocre! If you have been to better theme parks like Movie World, Sea World or Disneyland, you can give this place a miss. But if you are bringing kids, this might be still acceptable. (There is also a Miniature Theme Park, 小人国, nearby which could be a good family outing place too. We did not go for that one, though.) Despite being truly disappointed, Lynn and Vivi decided to make the most out of the entrance fees. Even I, went on a few rides with them without any ‘casualty’.

Can you see how bored we are? =p
We managed to take a photo with ‘Po’. That made up a bit. ^_^
Big Canyons Rapid Rides
A Candid shot during the ride (Can't believe we paid for it! It comes with a free lamination.)
Entrance of South Pacific Area
The Flying Hawk 笑傲飞鹰
This is said to be the most exciting game in the park. Too bad, it's under regular maintance on Mondays.
The shortest Vertical Drop Ride

A Taiwan Variety show - 少年特工队 came here for recording. The celebrities jumped down from the 'cliff top' but guessed it was used for the program only as we did not see anybody jumping off here...

Even the icecream here is yucky.

As it was a weekday, we covered the small park within four hours. Despite so, we were still tanned by the blazing sun. Vivi and Lynn got the most tan. =p

We decided to leave the park earlier and headed back to the hotel for a nice shower.

To make up for the disappointment of the theme park, we decide to tweak our itinery to fit in the famous Taiwan variety show, 我猜我猜我猜猜猜 (Guess x 3) for the evening.

This egg tart shop is located behind the Kunyang Station 昆阳站. They are quite yummy. The coffee flavoured one is unique! But Macau's portugese egg tart still win hands down!

From Kunyang Station, we took blue bus 22 from the bus stop across the road from Kunyang Station.

We reached the studio at 7pm and were seated by 8pm to watch the rehearsal. We were ushered to sit on the steps of the small staircase by the projector screen and the position was directly behind the host, 吴宗宪Jacky Wu! Needless to say, we appeared on TV umpteen times for that recording. Luckily, we did put some makeup.

The variety show consist of 3 sections - 1) Puzzles/Quiz 2) Who's the fake 真的假不了 3) Don't judge a book by its cover 人不可貌相.

The recording started with the perfomances of the participants. The hosts and celebrities only came in after this part was completed. The 'real' recording then began.

Today's Celebrities:(From Left)棒棒糖, 麻衣,宋新妮, 宝妈, 吴亚馨, 阿雅, 迅猛龙(郭怡廷)

It was a pity that we are not familiar with any of the celebrities present , but Jacky and Aya made our experience very interesting. Jacky Wu was fantastic. He never fails to set us laughing with his jokes and actions. He is a born entertainer!

The crew was also very professional. I was very impressed by the music/audio cheoragrapher, Ah mi. His impromptu sound effects blended in so well with the show. There was also minimal NGs. The whole recording was so smooth that it’s almost like watching the TV-ready version.

Can you see us at the right corner? ^_^

It was close to midnight when the break interval came and only 2/3 of the recording was completed. Our asses were numb from sitting, and we were feeling real tired after the long day. As much as we would like to follow through the recording, we could not ignore the thumping headache. It was also too late to proceed to our final destination – EZ5, so we decided to leave for the hotel instead. It was a 30-minutes ride back to the hotel. The cab fare was pretty reasonable (approximately NTD200 = S$10) All 3 of us fell asleep almost immediately once we touched the bed.
